Make your Valentine’s Beautiful at Franklin Park Conservatory

Spend a romantic evening just a few miles east of downtown Columbus at the Franklin Park Conservatory.  This Valentine’s Day you and your date can delight yourselves by tasting exquisite wines and liqueurs paired with handcrafted chocolates by Michael’s Artisan Chocolates.

Living in downtown Columbus allows you to take advantage of the wonderful things to do at our many attractions. Take a romantic stroll through a display of exotic orchid blooms and forget the February chill as you visit six tasting stations throughout the Conservatory’s inviting plant collections.  Enjoy live music by the Ryan Craycroft Trio and dance performances and lessons by Inspiration to Movement.

Enjoy a special Valentine’s Day menu in the Garden Cafe. There will also be additional wine and chocolate tastings, and bottles of wine and liqueur are available for purchase. Additional tastings available for $4 each or 3 for $10.

What to do during NHL All-Star Weekend

You’ve all heard about the huge hockey game and skills competition coming to town, even if you aren’t into hockey or sports in general. It is literally all over town, we mean that. Just look anywhere around Columbus and you’ll see huge advertisements and banners welcoming hockey fans from all over the world.

While this is a massive event drawing audiences from all over the country and Canada, there is still a lot of appeal for the Columbus locals. Even if don’t have a ticket to one of the big events (skills competition or All-Star Game) you can still find plenty of ways to get into the spirit and celebrate this sporting event right here in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

January 16-25 Go Ice Skating – Scotts Miracle-Gro Community Ice Rink Opens at McFerson Commons. ($5 skate admission includes rental. Cash only.) Click HERE to see the public skate schedule.
January 22 Slide the Snow – the Snow Slide presented by Huntington opens along westbound lanes of Nationwide Blvd. ($2 per ride. Cash only.) To learn more Click HERE.
January 22 Check out the Hockey House and Kids Zone -Dispatch Media Group Hockey House which will feature multiple live music appearances and serve food and beverages. Kids Zone will feature a Blue Jackets Replica Locker Room presented by AEP. Both will be located in Winter Park at McFerson Commons.
January 23 Visit the NHL Fan Fair – at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. ($12 tickets for adults, $10 for children if purchased ahead.) Click HERE for more information and to get tickets.
