Columbus Blue Jackets bring back Winter Park to the Arena District
Living in the Arena District, the very heart of downtown Columbus, has it’s perks. Even in the winter the Columbus events happening in the Arena District are abundant. For instance the Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing back the outdoor ice rink near Nationwide Arena, located right in McFerson Commons.
The Columbus Blue Jackets Winter Park, sponsored by Worthington Industries, will run from Jan. 22 though Feb. 21 and will feature an NHL-size rink that will be open for 31 days of public skating, hockey and other events. The rink will have bleacher seating for about 500 people, a skate rental tent and four heated locker rooms.
It will cost $5 to skate, including rental. A complete schedule of public sessions can be found here.
Winter Park also will feature a large heated tent that will serve as a hub for weekend entertainment and food and beverage service, and will feature a replica Blue Jackets locker room.
A video board near the rink will show Blue Jackets games on weekends.
