A day for giving thanks and gathering with loved ones, Thanksgiving marks the start of the highly anticipated holiday season. No matter if Columbus is a home away from home or the place you call home, Friendsgiving is the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends who feel like family.
This year we celebrate the opportunity to safely gather once again—and thankfully, Columbus has everything you need to do just that! Here are some ways you and your pals can have a great Friendsgiving in the city.
Gather On the Ice
Thinking of a non-traditional celebration? Cheer on the Columbus Blue Jackets with your closest friends! The Blue Jackets are returning to Columbus for two home games next week. Watch the team take on the Winnipeg Jets on November 24 and, for belated celebrators, the Vancouver Canucks on November 26 at Nationwide Arena. Get your tickets here.
Before and after the game, hit up your favorite bars and restaurants throughout the Arena District, and make it a whole night of fun and celebration!
Get Up and Get Active
The original Columbus Turkey Trot is back! If you and your friends are active early risers, start Thanksgiving day by participating in one of the event’s various races. Participating in the Turkey Trot not only brings friends closer together, but it also benefits children with disabilities through the Easterseals of Central & Southeast Ohio.
As a special way to remember the morning, all in-person participants will receive a finisher medal and take home a delicious, traditional pumpkin pie to enjoy after the race.
Take All the Credit
Skip the hassle of preparing dinner and order Giant Eagle Market District’s chef-inspired Thanksgiving feast! Whether you’re looking for a full-course meal or need some tasty sides, Market’ District’s signature dishes are full of traditional flavors and old-fashioned goodness that are sure to satisfy all of your friends’ seasonal cravings.
